How to update the KŌLOGY app

What it is for

KŌLOGY gets improvements often. The app itself tells you when a new version is out and shows the changes in What's new. Some old versions stop working; in that case the app asks you to update before continuing.

Where it is

• The update bar at the top of the screens (outside the full-screen map).
• Installed version: Settings → About → App version.
• Change history: Settings → About → What's new.

Step by step: from the store (Google Play or App Store)

1. When you see “Official update available on Google Play (version)” or “Update available on the App Store (version)”, tap the bar.
2. The store opens on the KŌLOGY page. Tap Update.
3. Open the app again. If you like, check What's new.

Step by step: app installed from a file (Android)

If your KŌLOGY was installed from an APK file provided by your company, not from Google Play, the update comes the same way:

1. Tap the bar “New KŌLOGY version available (version)” → “Tap to download and install.”
2. Read the explanation and tap Update. The app downloads the file (“Downloading version… %”) and checks it matches the published one (“Checking the file…”).
3. The first time, Android asks for permission: tap Settings, turn on Allow from this source and come back to the app.
4. The Android installer opens. Confirm the installation. Your data stays in the app.

Required update

If Update required appears (“This KŌLOGY version is no longer supported”), tap Open the store and update. Then tap Check again.

Common mistakes

• “The downloaded file does not match the published one (SHA-256)”: for safety it was not installed. Try again on a good connection.
• “Could not download the update”: check the internet and tap to retry.
• “Could not open the Android installer”: allow “Allow from this source” for KŌLOGY in the phone settings.
• The bar does not go away: tap Dismiss to hide it until next time.
