Bridges tab: SolidWorks, project folder and other programs
Open SolidWorks files (.sldprt/.sldasm/.slddrw), Open project folder, STEP to SolidWorks and All bridges — optional; KoCAD is complete on its own.

What it is
Bridges bring projects in from, or send them to, other programs installed on the PC. They are optional.
Buttons
- Open SolidWorks: .sldprt / .sldasm / .slddrw show preview, properties and parts at once. The 3D comes from the STEP with the same name or from SolidWorks installed on the PC (KoCAD starts it by itself).
- Open project folder…: identifies the project from its folder (top assembly, parts, drawings, STEP, Excel, PDF) with a preview of each file.
- STEP to SolidWorks: exports the model as STEP to open in SolidWorks.
- All bridges: lists the programs detected on this PC; those marked "SOON" are not ready yet (exchange STEP/DXF instead).
Tips
- In the project window Excel (XLSX/XLS) and CSV show the first rows; PDF and images use the system viewer; DXF and STEP have their own preview.
- Customer ZIP: File → Open accepts a ZIP (Japanese names decoded) and can link it to a KOREOS case.
Common mistakes
- SolidWorks file without 3D: there is no STEP with the same name and no SolidWorks on the PC. Ask the author for the STEP.
