Distance and street route

The program calculates distance along the map's street network and draws the path on screen. Everything runs on your computer: no point is sent to the internet. The straight line is shown only for comparison.

Who uses it and where

Operators and managers, on the Dispatch map, via right-click or Ctrl + click on pins. In KOLOGY Software Lite, street routing is part of the Offline street routing extension; without it, measurements show straight-line distance only. In Pro it is included.

Step by step: measure between two points

1. Right-click the origin delivery, marker or driver → Set as measurement origin.
2. Right-click the destination → Measure distance to here.
3. While it calculates, “Calculating route along roads…” appears with a provisional straight line.
4. The result shows By road: X km and, below, the straight line for comparison. The path is drawn and the view frames it.
5. To remove it, use Clear measurement.

Step by step: accumulated route with several stops

1. Hold Ctrl and click the first pin. It is highlighted.
2. Keep Ctrl pressed and click the next pins in visiting order. There is no limit.
3. The Accumulated route box lists each leg (from → to · distance) and shows the Total street route.
4. Release Ctrl and click the map background to finish.

Common mistakes

• “Road route unavailable”: the points are outside the map coverage or not linked by streets. The straight-line distance is kept.
• Only the straight line appears: in Lite, check under Extensions that Offline street routing is active.
• Ctrl + drag selected deliveries instead of measuring: dragging with Ctrl selects; for a route, Ctrl + click directly on the pins.
